Craps Strategy – The Mechanics Of Playing Craps

At the craps table only one person plays at a time. Everyone else is either cheering, complaining, or preparing for the next shooter. The shooter is a person who rolls the dice and sets the dice in the opposite direction of the spin in order to hit the wall at the opposite end of the table. The wall at the end of the table has a limit on the amount that can be bet. Before the shooter rolls, this amount is designated as apot. If the shooter rolls a 2, 3 or 12 (these are called craps, pronounced “Dewacasino“, because of the -$ sign), the player loses. If the shooter rolls a 7 before rolling the 2, 3 or 12, the player will stick around and be paid off according to the odds. The shooter will continue to roll the dice until they roll a point number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10), which results in breaking the table. The shooter will then roll the dice to determine their next roll.

Players can bet on the outcome of each roll. Odds are given for certain numbers, combinations and outcomes. Before the shooter rolls, the players may take certain actions. Betting begins with the person to the immediate left of the shooter, unless there is a bet offered on the previous roll. Betting, checking, or staying at your current table location when the shooter is rolled indicates a desire to bet, whereas staying at your previous table location does not.

Players should take certain actions if something is amiss with the dice, although there are no regulations against this. A thrown, missing dice cannot be replaced for seven rolls. If you notice that the shooter is wrong, you can bet the correct number, except when the shooter rolls a 7 before rolling the point number, which results in a push. If you bet the point number with the dice before a 7 is rolled, you win if the 7 is rolled first to establish a point.

The tricky part about craps is that the outcome of a roll influences the next roll. Before the shooter makes their first roll, you can place a bet on the outcome. You want to take a quick look at the dice, and if it lands on your number, you win. The house edge is about 5.5%. Should the dice be uncertant, and rolled again, you will lose. This is because the additional losing roll results in a push.

You can bet for or against the outcome of the outcome. If the shooter rolls a 7 before rolling the point number, you bet the point number. If the shooter rolls the point number, you win. While you are betting on the point number, you are not betting on the outcome. This means you do not take the risk of losing money. However, if the shooter rolls a 7 before rolling the point number you would lose.

The next roll is the actual winning or losing roll. If you bet the point number before the 7, you win. If you bet before the 7 and roll a 7, you lose. The bet is only for the outcome of the last roll.
